I created this Walkie Talkie in Maya and Substance Painter. First modeling a low poly version which would be used as the final game ready asset, then moving into more detail creating the ridges and smooth edges. Once I had completed the modeling and UV unwrapping I took both the high-poly and low-poly versions into Substance Painter and baked the high-poly onto the low-poly.
From here I textured it using plastic type materials as a basis, then added edge wear using masks and generators. After all the base materials were added I created alphas for the text and added them. I finished with adding various scuff marks including finger prints, scratch marks on the screen, and wear on the buttons.
I finished with setting up lighting in Marmoset and rendering it out with raytracing and in wireframe to show edge-flow.
